Overview

The Vona du Toit Model of Creative Ability (VdTMoCA) is an occupational therapy model relevant to Occupational Therapists (OTs) and assistants supervised by an OT. It is an ability focused model enabling therapists to facilitate motivation and occupational performance, understanding the relationship between doing and becoming. The term creative relates to one's ability to change in response to the life‘s demands (the creation of oneself), as well as creation of tangible things and solutions to problems.

This 1-day workshop provides an introduction to the VdTMoCA, with the opportunity to apply knowledge gained in identifying potential activities and therapy approach in engaging clients.

The VdTMoCA is being implemented in several wards at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH).
