Data, the ‘fuel’ of the digital era, is one of the core assets in every organisation. Leading-edge companies in all industries are using analytics to help them make more accurate decisions. Managers collect and analyse these enormous data sets to identify past trends, unveil new patterns and get insights to make sense of Big Data.
This 2-day workshop provides an introduction to business analytics for professionals. Through a combination of seminars and case studies, participants will be equipped with the knowledge on data preparation and cleansing, effective data storytelling through visual analytics and will experience hands-on practice on the visualisation tool, Power BI.

Analytics mindset is a valuable framework that helps businesses and working professionals maximise data analytics value. An Analytics mindset framework is the ability to formulate relevant questions, comprehend data, apply appropriate data analytics models or techniques, and interpret results and share it with stakeholders. |
Data Literacy |
This topic will guide you through a system thinking approach to understand structure of the data and the content within. Extraction, transformation, and loading of data are time-consuming but essential steps in data preparation. You will be guided to work on data preparation and cleansing. |

Visualisation Foundation |
“A picture is worth a thousand words”
Presentation of analytics results can be displayed in many various way. Course trainers will help participants familiarise with basic visualisation features, like, charting, filter, and data drill down. |
Data Storytelling |
An effective data analytics report has to be concisely packaged with focus on key issues and emphasis on essential findings. Thus, when data analytics results is summarised in a compelling and convincing manner, it creates more value-add to the users as key messages of the report is easily understood. |

SkillsFuture Funding
In order to be eligible for the 70% training grant awarded by SkillsFuture, applicants (and/or their sponsoring organisations where applicable) must:
- Be a Singaporean Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
- Not receive any other funding from government sources in respect of the actual grant disbursed for the programme
SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy
To be eligible for the 90% enhanced subsidy awarded, applicants (and/or their sponsoring organisations where applicable) must:
- Be a Singaporean Citizen
- Be at least 40 years old
- Not receive any other funding from government sources in respect of the actual grant disbursed for the programme
SIT reserves the right to collect the balance of the programme fees (i.e. the potential grant amount) directly from the applicants (and/or their sponsoring organisations where applicable) should the above requirements not be fulfilled.
