The global Halal market has emerged as a progressive component in the global economy. With both Muslim and Non-Muslim consumer base increasing every year, the Halal industry is set to become a competitive force in the international business world. The head of Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, Abdulla al-Muaini said that the "Halal industry is expected to be one of the steady growing sectors across the global economy". The growing Muslim population worldwide is expected to increase to 2.2 billion by 2030, thus translating into a rising international demand for halal products. The global Halal industry is estimated to be worth around USD2.3 trillion. Growing at an estimated annual rate of 20 percent, the industry is worth about USD 560 billion a year.

While halal is most often associated with food and drink, a wide range of halal products and services such as Beauty & Wellness, Travel and Tourism, Food & Beverage, Retail & Lifestyle and Financial Services can be offered by capitalising on a global Islamic economy, projected to be worth over $3 trillion by 2023. This widespread growth is due to the increasing demand for halal alternatives across a variety of industries.
