Overview
New building development is mandated to pass BCA Green Mark certification. One of the main criteria is to fulfil the minimum requirement for its natural ventilation performance by using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
In this programme, the participants will be trained to conduct CFD simulation using BIM HVAC Tool in the context of the built environment for Passive Design and HVAC design. Participants who are new to OpenFOAM are encouraged to enrol in this programme to further refine their skills.
What You’ll Learn
Introduction of building passive design strategies including natural ventilation
Factors affecting thermal comfort in naturally ventilated buildings
Use of CFD in assessing building natural ventilation performance
Development of 3D Geometry model and meshing computational model
Setting up boundary condition
Analysis of CFD results
Visualisation of CFD results for building design improvement
Who Should Attend
Building professionals, engineers, project managers, developers, building owners, facility managers and other stakeholders involved in green building projects
Certificate and Assessment
A Certificate of Participation will be issued to participants who:
- Attend 75% of the course
- Undertake non-credit bearing assessment (during course)
