SITizens Learning Credits

Overview

This 1-day interactive workshop will provide participants with the required water treatment knowledge and design experience in Ion Exchange / Demineralisation System. In the real world, customers usually will ask for two configurations for a Demineralisation System proposal (solution), namely: (a) Option A- BWRO unit followed by Mixed Bed, or (b) Option B - Ion Exchange Resin followed by Mixed Bed. At times, a customer may even want both options. For both options, it will also require an adequate Pre-Treatment System too, especially in very challenging feed water conditions. As such, this 1-day course will assist participants to identify and select key unit processes, and then apply the appropriate design criteria in their solutions.

The 1-day course will cover topics such as:
  1. Water Chemistry
  2. Pretreatment – Clarifier and Oil-Water-Solids Separation processes
  3. Demineralisation System – Application Overview and Design Considerations
  4. Comparison of Reverse Osmosis vs Ion Exchange for Demineralization
Discussions on system selections shall be conducted based on different water qualities.
