Overview
A water and wastewater treatment plant has a suite of unit operations and processes. Holistically, a total solution comprises of, Pre-treatment, Primary treatment, Secondary treatment, and Biosolids Handling.
This 1-day course focuses on Pre-treatment technology.
In the Oil and Gas industry, the Pre-treatment operation could include:
(1a) Separation by Gravity,
(1b) Chemical Pre-treatment
(1c) Heat Addition.
In water/wastewater industry, it could be:
(1d) Screens,
(1e) Grit/Grease removal
(1f) Balancing tank.
This course also focus on Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF), Corrugated Plate Interceptor (CPI), Induced Gas Floatation (IGF) separators and the clarifier/sedimentation tank. Once Pre-treatment is designed correctly and adequately, designers can have a peace of mind in all downstream processes.
The course will also look into the different feed water qualities of Produced Water and Water/Wastewater as design basis and use several design software for hands-on practices. The course will also touch on engineering design guidelines (in addition to functional requirements) which is good for any practicing or facility engineers and managers.
