Overview

Online usage amongst the populace has grown in recent years and continues to grow aggressively. Now, businesses want to obtain information and derive value from consumer data. This module will apprise students about the various kinds of relevant information on the World Wide Web. This module will also focus on basic techniques for managing the data extracted from web traffic analysis, social media analysis and end-user behaviour. In addition, there will be hands on session on using SQL for database management. Lastly, the module will delve into using analytics for understanding insights from data

What You’ll Learn

Web Architecture
  • Fundamentals of the technical architecture of the internet and the World Wide Web (websites, IP addresses, protocols, domain names etc.)
Databases and Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • The fundamentals of the Relational model for data, Entity Relationship diagrams, database tables and queries
Web Analytics
  • An introduction to Google Analytics, Facebook Analytics and insights, YouTube Analytics

Who Should Attend

Marketing, Branding, Sales and Digital Transformation Executives, Managers and Directors from the services industries such as Hospitality, F&B and Retail


Pre-requisites

  • Knowledge of at least one programming language or web development language
  • Exposure to analytics and/or web development

Certificate and Assessment

A Certificate of Participation will be issued to participants who:
  • Attend 75% of the course; and
  • Undertake non-credit bearing assessment (during course).

A Certificate of Attainment for each module will be issued to participants who:

  • Attend at least 75% of each respective module; and
  • Participants who pass the Continuous Assessment.

SkillsFuture Funding


In order to be eligible for the 70% training grant awarded by SkillsFuture, applicants (and/or their sponsoring organisations where applicable) must:
  1. Be a Singaporean Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
  2. Not receive any other funding from government sources in respect of the actual grant disbursed for the programme

SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy

To be eligible for the 90% enhanced subsidy awarded, applicants (and/or their sponsoring organisations where applicable) must:
  1. Be a Singaporean Citizen
  2. Be at least 40 years old
  3. Not receive any other funding from government sources in respect of the actual grant disbursed for the programme

SIT reserves the right to collect the balance of the programme fees (i.e. the potential grant amount) directly from the applicants (and/or their sponsoring organisations where applicable) should the above requirements not be fulfilled.

SIT reserves the right to make changes to published course information, including dates, times, venues, fees and instructors without prior notice.

There are a total of 11 credit-bearing modules, of which there are 4 core modules, and a choice of 4 out of 7 elective modules to meet the 24 credits requirements for the PGCert in Future Hospitality Experience. Candidates who complete 8 modules (4 core modules and 4 elective modules) totalling 24 credits with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 will be awarded the Postgraduate Certificate in Future Hospitality Experience by SIT.
