Overview
This course will cover the process of auditing information systems, the practical issues relating to the governance and management of IT, the controls relating to the procurement, development, operation and maintenance of information systems, the risk management and protection of information assets. The course will help professionals from any discipline to prepare for the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification.
The course will be based mainly on workshop exercises, case studies, and role-plays. At the end of each day, discussion on CISA practice questions will be held. At the end of the day, you will:
- Gain the level of knowledge required to audit Information Systems effectively.
- Understand what it takes to be a certified Information Systems auditor.
- Know the critical aspects of Governance, Risk, Security and Control relating to the management of Information Systems.
- Able to provide assurance that Information Systems are properly governed and managed.
Each participant will be provided with a complimentary hardcopy of:
1. CISA Review Manual, 27th Edition.
2. CISA Review Questions, Answers & Explanation Manual, 12th Edition.

Topic 3: Information Systems Acquisition, Development and Implementation- Develop business case for proposed IT investments
- Manage information systems development projects
- Evaluate controls in IT procurement and contracts management
- Review IT benefits realization practices
Topic 4: Information Systems Operations, Maintenance and Service Management- Manage IT operations and services
- Evaluate change management controls
- Review problem and incident management
- Assess end-user computing practices
Topic 5: Protection of Information Assets- Manage data confidentiality, integrity and availability
- Review physical and logical access controls
- Assess compliance with data privacy requirements
- Evaluate cybersecurity

Prerequisites
- University degree or at least 2 years of working experience
- Participants are required to read the CISA Review Manual and go through the CISA practice questions on the relevant topic before attending the class
Certificate and Assessment
A Certificate of Participation will be issued to participants who:
- Attend 75% of the course
- Obtain at least 50% in the overall assessments

SkillsFuture Course Funding
In order to be eligible for the 70% training grant awarded by SkillsFuture, applicants (and/or their sponsoring organisations where applicable) must:
- Be a Singaporean Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
- Not receive any other funding from government sources in respect of the actual grant disbursed for the programme
SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy
To be eligible for the 90% enhanced subsidy awarded, applicants (and/or their sponsoring organisations where applicable) must:
- Be a Singaporean Citizen
- Be at least 40 years old
- Not receive any other funding from government sources in respect of the actual grant disbursed for the programme
SIT reserves the right to collect the balance of the programme fees (i.e. the potential grant amount) directly from the applicants (and/or their sponsoring organisations where applicable) should the above requirements not be fulfilled.
Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)
This is a Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) supported course. If you are an NTUC member, you can enjoy 50% unfunded course fee support for up to $250 each year for courses supported under UTAP.
