Overview
The clinical and scientific application of isokinetic strength testing and rehabilitation has developed tremendously since its first appearance in the late 1960s. The use of isokinetic evaluation has particularly been useful for designing rehabilitation program for sports-related or musculoskeletal injuries. It has contributed significantly to current understanding of ACL rehabilitation concepts.
This two-day workshop will provide participants an overview of the application of isokinetic testing and rehabilitation. It will include lab sessions on strength and endurance testing, interpretation of findings and derived values, specific clinical applications in the sports rehabilitation of shoulder and knee conditions, as well as other more contemporary use, such as isokinetic eccentric testing and training.
What You’ll Learn
- History and basic application of isokinetic testing and rehabilitation
- Interpretation of test reports
- Clinical application of isokinetic exercise in sports rehabilitation of shoulder, ankle, and knee
- Mobility training with passive exercise
- Stability training with isometric exercise
- Eccentric loading and deceleration training
- Assessment of exercise and progression rules
- Neuro-muscular control, strength and power training
- Use of isokinetic testing reports for forensic purposes; wrap-up; assessment
Who Should Attend
