SITizens Learning Credits

Overview

There are several tools that accountants can use to perform some of the analysis they need, but they lack consistent workflow, cost, and repeatability. Most software used in accounting also has its limitations, but the possibilities are endless with programming. The user interface no longer becomes a barrier in what you can do when you use a programming language. You have complete control over your data and what it can do for you.

Programming languages are easy to learn, it’s free, and the analytics are repeatable. There are two advantages to programming. First, the options are very marketable and expand the range of options available. Second, the code is very flexible and portable, meaning it does not tie you to a specific vendor and can customize your approach as much as you need. With the proliferation of cloud services and the variety of cloud solutions available, it is imperative to perform business-critical analytics with minimal effort. The range of analytics possible with a programming language is vast. Python is one of the most widely used programming languages in data science. It supports machine learning methods and visualization techniques.
