Overview
Railway Engineering Simulator (RES) is an integrated railway system simulation software developed by Transport of London (Tfl) for over twenty years. It is capable of modeling and simulation of railway systems including railway infrastructure, rolling stock, signaling, power and passenger flow.
In this 4-day course, key software developers from Tfl will go through the technical details, guide participants in the practical sessions and share operational use cases from their organisation.
What You’ll Learn
- Introduction: Overview of RES capabilities and its application
- Network: track layout, topology and speed restrictions
- Rolling stock: train configuration, dynamics, traction and braking characteristics and basic Automatic Train Operation (ATO) configuration
- Timetabling: construct of trips and journey, stations and platform
- Signaling & control: train detection, routing and interlocking
- DC traction power modeling
- Passenger flow and capacity analysis
Who Should Attend
All professionals who are or will be in the railway transport industry and wish to understand the railway systems.
