The concept of 'service excellence' is often associated with people working in more distinctive service-oriented settings such as hospitality and retail. In reality, anyone who provides a service is a service personnel, and this includes engineers and technical personnel. To be effective in what they do, engineers and technical staff must have more than technical skills and knowledge. They need to know how to lead projects and interact with people of diverse needs and backgrounds. This necessitates the cultivation of effective communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong service mindset.

This series of service quotient programs for engineers and technical staff is designed with the aim of imbuing in participants a strong service quotient or SQ. Participants will be led to view their work through the framework of service orientation and leadership, and to draw applications to their workplace.

SQ – Service Quotient for Engineers and Technical Professionals (2) is targeted at engineers and supervisors who need better appreciation of service quotient in role-modelling the organization’s service vision.
