Overview
This one-day course enables participants to appreciate the feasibility to grow leafy vegetables traditionally grown on soil in indoor spaces using artificial lights and multi-shelves racking system or on purpose-built enclosures. This offers high yield efficiency in a climate-controlled environment, using organic fertiliser, artificial lighting, a minimal amount of water and without using any amount of pesticide.
Participants will have the opportunity to practise hands-on via the following various stages of farming, using specimen prepared in advance:
- Germination from seeds
- Nursery and potting for cultivation to harvest
At the end of the course, participants will have a good understanding of those techniques; essential equipment, growing environment, required conditions and the practical know how to grow leafy vegetables in indoor spaces or customised enclosures.

SkillsFuture Funding
To be eligible for the 70% training grant awarded, applicants (and/or their sponsoring organisations where applicable) must:
- Be a Singaporean Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
- Not receive any other funding from government sources in respect of the actual grant disbursed for the programme
SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy
To be eligible for the 90% enhanced subsidy awarded, applicants (and/or their sponsoring organisations where applicable) must:
- Be a Singaporean Citizen
- Be at least 40 years old
- Not receive any other funding from government sources in respect of the actual grant disbursed for the programme
SIT reserves the right to collect the balance of the programme fees (i.e. the potential grant amount) directly from the applicants (and/or their sponsoring organisations where applicable) should the above requirements not be fulfilled.
SIT reserves the right to make changes to published course information, including dates, times, venues, fees and instructors without prior notice.
