Overview

This one-day course enables participants to appreciate the feasibility to grow leafy vegetables traditionally grown on soil in indoor spaces using artificial lights and multi-shelves racking system or on purpose-built enclosures. This offers high yield efficiency in a climate-controlled environment, using organic fertiliser, artificial lighting, a minimal amount of water and without using any amount of pesticide.

Participants will have the opportunity to practise hands-on via the following various stages of farming, using specimen prepared in advance:

  • Germination from seeds
  • Nursery and potting for cultivation to harvest

At the end of the course, participants will have a good understanding of those techniques; essential equipment, growing environment, required conditions and the practical know how to grow leafy vegetables in indoor spaces or customised enclosures.
